Slyrs Madeira Cask Single Malt Whisky 700ml

Madeira, a dessert wine originating from the Portuguese island that shares its name, belongs to the category of "fortified" wines. This refers to the addition of alcohol, typically brandy, during fermentation which halts the process once the alcohol concentration reaches 16% vol., a level lethal to yeast. The resulting wine retains significant residual sweetness and matures in barrels. This is where SLYRS Whisky, previously aged four to five years in traditional American white oak casks, is introduced. After approximately two years, the malt embodies the light, fruity notes of the Madeira, resulting in a uniquely aromatic blend.
